About

Likely People is built by a psychometrician who has spent more than twenty years designing, testing and validating questionnaires taken by millions of people.

Michael L. Morris, PhD

Michael has spent more than two decades building and validating some of the best-known assessments in the world. At CPP, Inc. (now The Myers-Briggs Company) he led the revision of the Strong Interest Inventory® assessment, one of the most widely used career interest assessments in the United States. He also led research for a multi-year global revision of the MBTI® assessment, perhaps the best-known personality assessment in the world. In 2026 he developed an AI response indicator for the CPI 260® assessment that detects and mitigates AI-generated faking in high-stakes testing.

His research on vocational interests and personality has appeared in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, the Journal of Counseling Psychology and the Journal of Vocational Behavior, among others. It includes the largest single study of group differences in work-related interests (more than 1.2 million people) and recent national studies, with university collaborators, of how well people's interests match the jobs available. He co-authored the Strong Interest Inventory Manual and dozens of technical papers.

Why Likely People

Many measures that Michael built followed the same basic process: drafting questions, a time-consuming pilot data collection, discovering which questions didn't work, and doing it again. Likely People gives anyone, from a graduate student to a research team, a realistic preview of their data before a single real person answers, and tells them honestly how much that preview is worth. That means weak questions get cut before the pilot rather than after it, fewer rounds of data collection, and new measures developed faster, at a fraction of the cost.
